Research is an integral part
of Simorgh’s activities. It has pioneered research on women
and the media, violence against women and the documentation of
oral history based on women’s narratives. Its other areas
of interest are women in literature and literature by women, literary
translations, religious fundamentalisms, and the patriarchal family
and education with a special emphasis on participatory teaching
methodology, and the production of school texts based on women’s
rights and human rights.
As part of its agenda for social
change, one avenue that Simorgh has followed is publications.
Based on original research, women’s literature in translation,
training material, manuals, posters, cards, annual diary, etc.
